Valenca Canoe Fishery, Brazil

Case
The port of Valenca, which is popular for its canoe-fishing tradition, is located on the Una River, about 60 miles down the coast from Salvador in the state of Bahia, in the northeastern part of Brazil on the Atlantic coast. The original case spans from 1970-1971; the resource units are demersal and pelagic fish species.
